Italian romance
Introduced in 1958 at the Turin Motor Show, the 2000 series succeeded the Alfa Romeo 1900.
It was Alfa Romeo's top-of-the-range model before the arrival of V6-engined models in the 1970s.
Produced from 1958 to 1962, the Spider version was designed and bodied by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan.
Very pure styling, elegant lines typical of the 50s.
Built using the Superleggera method (tubular chassis covered with aluminium panels).
Total production of the 2000 Spider Touring: around 3,443 units
Less produced than the saloon version (2000 Berlina), which makes it more sought-after today.
This is one of the last Alfa Romeo models to be built largely by hand.
Its classic design makes it an icon of post-war Italian style.
The Spider 2000 Touring was often seen in European films of the 1960s, where it symbolised Italian elegance, sportiness and romance.
