The GR Yaris is not a fast city car but a pure homologation special with number plates. The 1.6 litre three cylinder turbo produces 261 hp and operates exclusively via a six speed manual gearbox. Through the GR-FOUR system you distribute the power between the axles yourself for a neutral or more rear wheel biased handling. The roof is made of forged carbon fibre to lower the centre of gravity. The vastly wide wheel arches and specific roofline share nothing with a standard Yaris.
Nice detail: Toyota combined the Yaris platform at the front with that of the Corolla at the rear purely to accommodate the four wheel drive and complex suspension for the WRC.

De GR Yaris is geen snelle stadsauto maar een pure homologatiespecial met kentekenplaten. De 1,6 liter driecilinder turbo perst er 261 pk uit en werkt uitsluitend via een handgeschakelde zesbak. Via het GR-FOUR systeem verdeel je de kracht zelf tussen de assen voor een neutraal of juist meer achterwiel georiënteerd rijgedrag. Het dak is gemaakt van gesmeed koolstofvezel om het zwaartepunt te verlagen. De enorm brede wielkasten en de specifieke daklijn hebben niets te maken met een standaard Yaris.Leuk detail: Toyota combineerde het platform van de Yaris vooraan met dat van de Corolla achteraan puur om de vierwielaandrijving en de complexe ophanging te kunnen monteren voor het WRC.

La GR Yaris n'est pas une citadine rapide mais une véritable spéciale d'homologation immatriculée. Le trois cylindres turbo de 1,6 litre développe 261 ch et fonctionne exclusivement avec une boîte manuelle à six rapports. Via le système GR-FOUR vous répartissez vous même la puissance entre les essieux pour un comportement neutre ou davantage orienté sur les roues arrière. Le toit est en fibre de carbone forgé pour abaisser le centre de gravité. Les passages de roues élargis et la ligne de toit spécifique n'ont rien à voir avec une Yaris standard.Détail intéressant : Toyota a combiné la plateforme de la Yaris à l'avant avec celle de la Corolla à l'arrière uniquement pour pouvoir installer la transmission intégrale et la suspension complexe pour le WRC.
