2011 Ducati 1198 – Termignoni Sound & Fresh Desmo Service
The "Analog" Superbike Legend – Ready for the Season
Up for sale is my Ducati 1198. This bike represents the end of an era: the last of the trellis-framed, dry-clutch, big-bore L-twins. It is raw, mechanical, and sounds like nothing else on the road thanks to the full Termignoni exhaust system.
Maintenance & Performance (The Good Stuff)
This bike has been mechanically "future-proofed" with all the major work already completed:
- Major Desmo Service: Just completed (Full 24,000 service). This includes valve clearances, new timing belts, and fluids. This is ~2,000 Euro value that the new owner won't have to worry about for years.
- Charging System Upgrade: Installed a new voltage regulator (a known weak point on these models), ensuring rock-solid electrical reliability.
- Exhaust: Termignoni pipes installed for that signature Ducati roar. The stock exhaust is included in the sale.
- Tires/Fluids: [Mention if these are fresh too].
I believe in 100% transparency so there are no surprises:
- Left Upper Fairing: The bike had a low-speed slide into the grass. There is cosmetic damage to the left upper fairing. It is functional, but a perfectionist will likely want to replace it to return the bike to showroom condition.
- Battery: The battery is currently starting the bike but is reaching the end of its typical lifespan due to age. I would recommend a fresh one for total peace of mind.
- Mechanicals: Aside from the fairing, the bike is mechanically 10/10.
This is a rare opportunity to own a fully-serviced 1198. Most bikes on the market are "due" for their expensive Desmo service—this one is ready to ride today.
