The 488 Pista is the successor to the 458 Speciale and the most extreme road version Ferrari built of the 488. The 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 produces 720 ps at 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm, with an engine that shares 50 per cent of its components with the 488 Challenge race car. The Pista is 90 kg lighter than the 488 GTB through carbon body panels, a lithium-ion battery and a lighter exhaust. Kerb weight 1,385 kg. The S-Duct, an aerodynamic channel that routes air through the nose upward to generate additional downforce on the front axle, was applied by Ferrari for the first time on a production car with the Pista.
Fun fact: the brake servo is taken directly from the 488 Challenge race car. There is no softness at the top of the brake pedal travel, the brakes respond immediately the moment you touch the pedal.

De 488 Pista is de opvolger van de 458 Speciale en de meest extreme straatversie die Ferrari van de 488 bouwde. De 3,9 liter V8 biturbo levert 720 pk bij 8.000 toeren en 770 Nm, met een motor die voor 50 procent uit nieuwe onderdelen bestaat en rechtstreeks gedeeld wordt met de 488 Challenge racewagen. De Pista is 90 kg lichter dan de 488 GTB dankzij koolstofvezel carrosseriepanelen, een lithium-ion batterij en een lichtere uitlaat. De S-Duct, een aerodynamisch kanaal dat lucht via de neus naar boven leidt voor extra neerwaartse druk op de vooras, paste Ferrari voor het eerst op een productieauto toe op de Pista.
Leuk detail: de rembekrachtiging is overgenomen van de 488 Challenge racewagen. Er zit geen zachtheid aan het begin van de rempedaalslag, de remmen reageren meteen zodra je de pedaal raakt.

La Pista est 90 kg plus légère que la 488 GTB grâce aux panneaux de carrosserie en carbon, une batterie lithium-ion et un échappement plus léger. Masse en ordre de marche 1 385 kg. Le S-Duct, un canal aérodynamique qui guide l'air par le nez vers le haut pour générer un appui supplémentaire sur l'essieu avant, a été appliqué par Ferrari pour la première fois sur une voiture de production avec la Pista.
Anecdote: le servofrein est repris directement de la voiture de course 488 Challenge. Il n'y a aucune mollesse en début de course de pédale de frein, les freins répondent immédiatement dès que vous touchez la pédale.
