THIS 944
This 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet was first registered in May 1990 and finished with a Zermatt Silver Metallic exterior over black leather. The factory airconditioning option was selected as well. A five-speed manual transmission further increases the car’s desirability.
Sold new to a resident in Belgium, the 944 remained under the care of its previous owner - mr Vanackere from Heule, Belgium - for quite a while until it was no longer registered and stayed in his private collection. Acquired by the current owner in 2006 and sparingly used over the course of its ownership, with just 72,000 kilometers shown on the odometer. We are informed it has always been garaged and maintained to the highest standards by its current owner; the car was kept in good working and cosmetic order and regularly serviced by his mechanic.
Benefitting the car by tastefully bringing it up to modern standards, this 944 has had a new classic looking Blaupunkt DAB head unit fitted. Thanks to its 3.0-liter, 16-valve engine, the 944 S2 is a potent sportscar that takes full advantage of the excellent handling characteristics of its front-engine chassis. A well-maintained, low-mileage Cabriolet example such as this will certainly be cherished by its next owner.
Built in the final years of 944 production, there can't be many 944 Cabriolets with mileage as low as this. The values of good 911s appear to only go further up, and asking prices for quality 944s, 928s, and 968s continue to follow, so now is as good a time as any to join the party, and its rare to see a better cared-for example out there, especially in such a classic colour combination and longterm ownership.

The car is sold on behalf of a client and currently has Belgian registration.

THE 944

In 1989, the second series of the 944 was introduced, powered by a 210bhp normally aspirated double-overhead-cam 16-valve 3-litre version of the 944S engine, which was the largest four-cylinder engine in production at the time. The 944 S2 also benefited from a revised transmission and the gearing was tweaked to better suit the torque and peak power characteristics of the 3-litre M44/41 powerplant. The S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the 944 Turbo model and this was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper, where the bumper and bonnet profiles would merge smoothly with the valance, a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on production cars from the early 1990s. In 1989, Porsche released the 944 S2 Cabriolet that featured a cabriolet body built by the ASC-American Sunroof Company at Weinsberg in Germany, creating a very good looking car with excellent dynamic qualities that was rewarding to drive and well-received by the motoring press.
