The G99 M5 Touring is the third M5 Touring BMW has ever built, following the E34 and the V10-powered E61. The 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 works with an electric motor for 727 ps and 1,000 Nm through M xDrive to all four wheels. BMW fitted active rear-wheel steering to an M5 for the first time, making the car more agile at low speeds and more stable at higher speeds.
Fun fact: the G99 is the first M5 Touring ever sold in the United States. BMW always kept the M5 Touring exclusive to Europe, but made an exception for the first time with the G99 generation

De G99 M5 Touring is de derde M5 Touring die BMW ooit bouwde, na de E34 en de V10-aangedreven E61. De 4,4 liter V8 biturbo werkt samen met een elektromotor voor 727 pk en 1.000 Nm via M xDrive naar alle vier de wielen. Voor het eerst rustte BMW de M5 uit met actieve achterwielbesturing, waardoor de auto bij lage snelheden wendbaarder is en bij hogere snelheden meer stabiliteit biedt.
Leuk detail: de G99 is de eerste M5 Touring ooit die in de VS verkocht werd. BMW hield de M5 Touring altijd exclusief voor Europa, maar maakte voor de G99 generatie voor het eerst een uitzondering.

La G99 M5 Touring est la troisième M5 Touring que BMW ait jamais construite, après l'E34 et l'E61 à moteur V10. Le V8 biturbo de 4,4 litres travaille avec un moteur électrique pour 727 ps et 1 000 Nm via le M xDrive aux quatre roues. BMW a monté pour la première fois une direction des roues arrière active sur une M5, rendant la voiture plus agile à basse vitesse et plus stable à vitesse élevée.
Anecdote: la G99 est la première M5 Touring jamais vendue aux États-Unis. BMW avait toujours réservé la M5 Touring à l'Europe, mais a fait une exception pour la première fois avec la génération G99.
