BBMW E39 M5 1999 Oxford Grün 249.000 kmThe E39 M5 needs no introduction. Powered by the naturally aspirated S62 V8 producing 294 kW (400 hp), it remains one of the most celebrated driver's cars ever built and the market knows it.
This example presents itself in the rare colour Oxford Grün, combined with the exclusive Embossleather "Strauss" interior in Silverstone and an anthracite headliner. A combination that is exceptionally hard to find. Based on known production data, only 124 left-hand drive examples were ever produced worldwide in Oxford Green I making this one of the rarest colour specifications in the model's entire production run.
The overall condition of the car is very well maintained and presentable, both exterior and interior remarkable for a vehicle of this age and mileage. The bodywork presents in full original paint throughout, with the exception of the bonnet which has been refinished. Note: paint depth readings could not be obtained on the bumpers as these are plastic components. Notably, the car was ordered from the factory without model badging and without a rear spoiler a deliberate, understated choice that lets the timeless E39 silhouette speak for itself. Adding to its unique character, the car was factory-ordered with a detachable tow hitch (S235) an exceptionally rare option on an E39 M5.
DocumentationThe car was originally delivered by and serviced at Autohaus Walter Ritzel, Lippstadt, where it remained with its
first owner up to at least 238,576 km (confirmed August 2022). A set of original BMW dealer service printouts is present documenting this history from new. The service booklet is present but not fully stamped. Based on the available service documentation, it is believed that the VANOS system has been overhauled, though this cannot be fully confirmed from the records at hand.
A complete set of original DEKRA roadworthiness certificates is present, documenting continuous passed inspections from 2008 through to December 2024 an exceptional paper trail for a vehicle of this age. The most recent DEKRA inspection (December 2024, 243,352 km) noted minor oil seepage from the engine a common characteristic on high-mileage S62 units and disclosed here in full transparency.
